Prior becoming a member of the NAI Sioux Falls Commercial team, Jim served as the owner and publisher of a weekly newspaper group. During his 12 years at Prairie Publications, Jim had the opportunity to develop strong relationships with businesses and clients throughout the Sioux Falls area.

In his hometown of Miller during the 1980’s and 1990’s, Jim was the co-manager of a prominent South Dakota-based agribusiness firm, which traded into the Canadian provinces as well as the upper Midwest states.

Jim has completed several transactions since joining NAI Sioux Falls Commercial, working in the industrial and warehouse area.

After making inroads into the Sioux Falls commercial real estate scene, Jim switched gears and began focusing on his area of expertise - the booming state-wide agriculture land market. In a short time, Jim has been successful in helping his clients buy, sell and lease their agriculture properties. Calling on friends and acquaintance from his previous agribusiness days, Jim has begun dealing successfully in farm and pasture land throughout the state. After brokering substantial farm land transactions in eastern South Dakota, Jim is also working on land and business deals in the West River counties. Since 2005, he has closed over $10,000,000 in agriculture land transactions.
